A to Z Marines Care Guide
Coral Care
Successful coral keeping depends on stable water quality, suitable lighting, appropriate flow and correct placement. Different coral species can have very different requirements.
General reef parameters
Temperature: 24–26°C. Salinity: 1.024–1.026 SG. Ammonia and nitrite: 0. Monitor alkalinity, calcium, magnesium, nitrate and phosphate regularly.
Lighting & flow
Match lighting and water movement to the coral. Acclimate new corals gradually to stronger lighting and leave enough space between neighbouring corals.
Feeding
Many corals obtain much of their energy from light, while others benefit from suitable coral foods. Feed according to species requirements and avoid overfeeding.
Always research the specific coral before purchase.
